The Triad is the second hungriest region in the United States. The Triad is also smack dab in the middle of the Bible Belt. To us, those two ideas should be exclusive. To us, the Church needs to step up and feed. Jesus said, “I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me when you failed to feed the least of these.”
That’s why at R2, we’ve decided that feeding the hungry is part of what we do at every worship experience. On Sundays, we open up our Food Bank to service those in need. Registration is open from 10:45 to 11:15 for our 12:15 distribution. While waiting for distribution, food bank guests are welcome to join us in worship or enjoy a drink at Fuse cafe. All that is required to receive food is a valid driver’s license or state issued ID.
On the third Sunday of each month, our mobile Food Bank visits Lexington, NC to bring food to those in need there. We gather at 1:00PM at the Lexington Public Library to distribute groceries to those in need in Lexington. Please email Dustin Owens, our Mobile Food Bank Director, for more information at dustin@R2Live.tv. Please bring a valid, state-issued ID.
